  • For over 50 years, the Wexford has the best breakfast in town!

  • This place is a real gem. It’s an honest-to-goodness traditional Family Restaurant, and it stands head-and-shoulders above any of the many bland chain restaurants that litter the dining landscape in Scarborough. Everything is made fresh on site – no frozen/microwaved entrees here! The baby beef liver & onions is the best I’ve ever had, and the chicken souvlaki on a pita is outstanding every time. The chopped steak is another big winner, and the mashed potatoes don’t come from a box of powder. Service is always fast and friendly, and there’s lots of parking right in front. Very highly recommended.

  • We love finding places like Wexford that quickly get on our ‘fav list’ of dining experiences, food quality and service.
This place is tops for great food – they know what a ‘basted’ egg is! Their food is excellent, the quantity and quality of their food is more than comparable to their prices.
Service has always been great…we really like the little lady server with the attitude! She’s great.

  • Good food & atmosphere. Best place for breakfast. Be aware though that the food is a bit oily.

  • Still a fabulous breakfast experience.
    Real fresh squeezed Orange juice.
    Perfect quantity of real bacon.
    Eggs how you enjoy them.
    Fast and Friendly service.
    Excellent coffee/tea.
Multi grain, dark or regular rye bread.
    Wide selection of newspapers.
    I always come back.

  • LOVED IT. Just happen to come across this place while at the 2011 TASTE OF LAWRENCE and it was amazing. Not sure where the previous reviewer buys a decent $3.99-$4.99 breakfast, or how he spent $15.00 on one meal! I spend $30.00 total for the three of us. This included additional drinks. Decent pricing for what you get and the staff was mega-friendly. We’ll be heading back the next time we’re up that way.

  • Best breakfast Joint! (From Google Review)

  • Although I live in Markham it is always worth the drive into Toronto to enjoy a great breakfast at the Wexford. From the moment you walk in and receive a friendly greeting you should realize service like the Wexford is certainly a lost art. Once seated the coffee starts to pour and attentive service just seems automatic here.

The wait staff like the owners that great you are friendly, genuinely seem to care that your visit to this restaurant is a pleasant one and always seem to get the orders just right. The kitchen puts out the food cooked to order and in good time. The portions are generous and the quality of their dishes becomes apparent with your first bite.

I think the Wexford provides an excellent breakfast at a fair price in this day and age when people look for value for their money. I wish we had such a place in Markham but have no problem driving into Toronto to get my awesome breakfast fix!

    Here’s to another 50 years!

  • Nice to find a traditional Scarborough establishment. A place that has been around longer than me! They still cook old school, like the way it was back in the 1950’s with lots of butter to fry your egg. My friend and I stopped by last Saturday in the late afternoon so there were no crowds. Decor from decades ago, but the place was clean.

Ordered coffee $2.15 (got one top up) and “Eggs” which was 3 eggs with potatoes. The price after breakfast hours was $8.45 . The Eggs and Sausage was $10.45, comes with 4 links of sausage. When the toast came out, it was glistening in good ole butter! The way I used to butter my toast when i was a kid!

Friendly service. But like the other reviews said, fairly pricey for such a basic breakfast. It is a place you want to try out at least once to say you’ve done it and then maybe come back after a few years for the novelty. . Although for nostalgia, I hope the place does stay open for many more years to come.

  • We go for the breakfast. The guys up front always greet you warmly and give you a newspaper. The wait staff are pleasant and attentive. The food portions are generous and just the way I like. Guess I’m old fashioned. So be it!

  • “Excellent Breakfast” I came to the Wexford because my friend had recommended it. I was not disappointed, very friendly atmosphere and great service. I loved the real fresh squeezed orange juice! Great coffee and an excellent breakfast. I had western omelette and my wife had an egg white veggie omelette. We will be back. –

  • Agree…! I was looking for a good breakfast place in Scarborough Busy place with lots of character and great food. LOVED the Eggs and Omelettes. SO GOOD. My son got a white plate special, and they were happy to for juice to coffee . Eggs were perfect! My husbands big meat breakfast had the best sausages I have ever tasted. (I am not a breakfast sausage fan and I ate both of his!)
